I Solemnly Swear that I am Up to No Good

For the doujinshi dedicated to everyone's favorite mad Marauders -- Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs! From the times when Remus Lupin was a mischievous werewolf on the loose, before Sirius Black had never seen the cold inside of Azkaban, and before James Potter knew the chilling curse of Voldemort following Peter Pettigrew's betrayal.

Enh. I'm not tremendously fond of this doujinshi. It's small, and the stories are relatively short, without a lot of action. The art is fairly nice, though. I think these people would be good if they could get a serious plotline going. Pictures included involve a foul-tempered Sirius and a rather indifferent Lily.

Remus angsts on some night near the full moon. Sirius and James, hidden beneath the invisibility cloak, cheer him up. Interesting artwork in the beginning of the doujinshi, centering around the "modern day" Hogwarts generation.

Azkaban contains several stories, both gag and serious. Gag stories include Remus handing out chocolate on the Hogwarts Express following the Dementor incident. His stomach growls loudly, and the students all try to give him his chocolate back. Another gag story involves Sirius sneaking onto Hogwarts grounds to see Harry -- floating in the moat and dressed as a giant squid. In the main tale, Harry asks Remus what he thinks about when conjuring his Patronus. Remus tells of how as a child, he secluded himself from everyone, thinking that they would hate him. Sirius and James burst through the window of the Shrieking Shack where Remus had been hiding and chide him for thinking that they hate him. Remus tells Harry that, when he conjures his Patronus, he thinks of the light from the window and James and Sirius' smiling faces.

Pairing: James x Lily

This doujinshi is absolutely adorable! The first story tells of the Marauders during the MWPP days, in which they have a snowball fight involving large mounds of snow, their wands, and 'Beater' sticks. In the end, the mountain of snow hurtles directly for Lily, and she dissipates it with a wave of her wand. In another story, Harry, Ron, and Hermione awaken Remus Lupin from dreams of his school days, where the Marauders met on the castle roof to plot their next adventure. Very cute and heartwarming, particularly the corresponding parts where Remus remembers slipping off the roof, and James catches him. Later in the present, he goes onto the roof again with Harry and friends and once again slips, only this time Harry catches him.

Umm. Weird. Indeed most weird. Nevermind the fact that Sirius is wearing a shirt that says 'Class of 84' on the cover (as he'd have been in Azkaban at the time)... This doujinshi has some rather odd art in it, centering around everyone's favorite Marauders both in the days of MWPP and in the present. There's a shot of Severus in a priest's robe, Remus daydreaming in the middle of class, and something going on at a school dance between Sirius and Remus. This artist draws older Remus kind-of like Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. She also draws him left-handed, which is how I tend to imagine Remus to be...

This one has everything -- angst as James and Sirius learn of Remus' "dark secret," cuteness, wacky Japanese gags. There's also some very nicely finished art in the end showing James and Lily's final moments, followed by the reactions of Severus Snape, Sirius, and Remus as they learn of their deaths.

I don't have a good sense of what exactly is going on. The beginning of this doujinshi flashes between Sirius and Remus having tea back in their time as Hogwarts students, and Harry and Ron chatting in the present day. The ending flips back to the MWPP days, with an angsty sort of conversation between James, Sirius, and Remus. In the end, Sirius looks all sad, and James hugs him.

Another angsty retelling speculating on how everyone's favorite mad Marauders became friends. Okay, so it does have a few interesting twists -- Sirius doesn't completely accept Remus as a friend until much later, while James appears to have a propensity for glomping Remus. After they do become friends, they 'surprise' Remus by following him down the path to the Whomping Willow one night just as he's about to transform. Remus wakes up the next morning and freaks, taking the opportunity to pound Sirius for not letting on that they had mastered the animagus transformation.
